Tri Tronics Sport Basic G3 Electronic Dog Collar
Nice product but not able to stand up to normal wear and tear. After only a short time, about a year the “belt loops” or Collar strap Retaining loops broke on both sides of the collar. After talking to TT, they blame the problem on the user, saying that owner were chaining their pets up to the collar or grabbing the dog by the collar creating too much presser, but admit to changing the material used on newer units. I would not recommend this unit TT doesn’t stand behind their products they want to charge us $60.00 to repair their defective unit. Sorry TT but that’s pretty poor customer service.

For safety, I use a Tri-Tronics Sport Basic G3 remote shock collar for two issues. First, this collar has assured me that my dog will “Come” when commanded. I also used this collar to stop a problem in the local dog park that my dog was causing. And it worked!!! It has been one year since purchased, and I now rarely have to use it. Training my dog was a snap too – 1 day. VERY IMPORTANTLY, I recommend you initially supplement your dogs training using TREATS after any shock. When you see the look on your dog’s face after his first few shocks, you’ll understand why this is a great, and humane, training method. Treats, and lots of petting, were used to let my dog know that everything was OK, and he obeyed my order. “Good boy! Here’s a treat.” I believe it really made all the difference in how my dog interpreted those initial shocks. Additionally, if you take your dog out for off-leash fun at night, purchase the optional (red, white, or blue) light that can be added on to the collar for $44 or so. So far, it has passed the rabbit chasing test and has not shut off like most cheap clip on type LED lights. Highly recommended for off-leash.

I was apprehensive at first to utilize an electronic collar with our dog. The suggestion however came from an expert trainer and after educating ourselves on the pros/cons of this training method, we decided it was a good fit for our dog. We mostly use the collar on the lowest setting and it has allowed us to begin taking our dog places off leash (where allowed). We know she’ll respond while at the same time, she gets the independence she so much desires. This is a great e-collar – it has great range, is waterproof, is easy to charge, easy to use, etc.

i recently purchased this collar in an effort to regain control over my 2 year old german shepard.I was not able to take him out for walks alone out of fear for him atacking someone and because he would be the one walking me.Ive used this product 3 times and after the first their was a total change. I can now walk him with one hand and feel like i have complete control over him. Im not a very strong person so for me this was a wonderful thing. We were to the breaking point with him and i know that this was the best thing i could have gotten. The only thing that I do differently than the video is shocking him every once and a while like the video teaches you to do. I feel that the purpose of this product is to correct him when hes doing something wrong and dont feel it necessary to do it all the time….All dogs are different so do the method that you feel will work best. But do watch the video first

Heavy duty! Works great on my lab. I use the sound function more than anything and it makes him jump away from whatever he’s doing, or drop the piece of trash he just picked up. All that without any stimulation.
